Photographic Inspiration from a Surface Pattern Designer

These pictures were taken on holiday in Northumberland a few months ago.  A compilation of shapes, shadows, lines and textures occurring from the elements. Next I will experiment with isolating shapes, and explore how they relate and contrast to one another. This will form the basis of a new surface pattern collection.

A Dose of Colour Therapy

Happy Yellow

Colour as tonic!

The sky was so dark and grey this morning I decided to pick out our vibrant yellow sky blossom scarf to make a cheery post on Instagram. Whilst it was draped on a chair  I mistook it for a ray of sunshine. A simple solution for bringing a dose of spring colour indoors!

Neutral tones, rich texture and organic shapes.

I almost set off without a camera in the pouring rain but look at what a wet woodland walk can offer by way of inspiration for designers, artists and photographers!

Edge of the Meadow Silk Floral Scarf

A whimsical garden…

A walk through an English country garden  inspired this limited edition silk scarf. There was something very magical and whimsical about the garden that I wanted to capture in this piece. A silk wrap, perfect for adding a vibrant touch to a tailored suit or dress. Think wedding, opera or garden party. When it is opened out to the full length of 200cm, the symmetrical layout is striking and drapes gracefully around the shoulders. Habotai silk is luxurious, extremely light and warm making it an elegant alternative to a cardigan ( with a dress ) or chunky scarf ( with jeans)

Looks elegant when paired with a cream tailored jacket. The vibrant mix of pastel and rich colours within the scarf, allows it to work with  a range different colours
