I ask myself is “The Designer’s Dictionary of Colour” a book for business or leisure? It turns out to be both. It’s what I look forward to reading at the weekend, and is now my Monday Motivation. Highly recommend it if you want to find out more about the historical, cultural and social meanings of colour. #mondaymotivation #smallandmightybusiness #colourinspiration #culturalstudies #designhistory #lovetoreadbooks #tatemodernmuseum #designerlifestyle #surfacepatterndesigner #textiledesigner #patterninspiration #creativityfound #colourlovers
Escaped to London to see the Pierre Bonnard exhibition at the Tate Modern. The art inside is impressive, as is the design and architecture on the outside. I love the view of the River Thames, St Pauls Cathedral, the entire skyline. I turned to go back in and caught a glimpse of these glass fronted buildings reflecting the elements, maximising the contrast of dark and light. #tatemodern #londonsky #skyline #fleetingmoments #architecturephotography #buildingdesign #glassbuilding #reflectinglight #thingsyousee #distractionsandinspirations #pursuepretty #designaddict #contrasting #lightseekers #theelements #creativityfound #photographer #beinspired #artgallery #insideoutside #patterninspiration #reflection_shots #momentslikethese
Photography is an essential means to capture fleeting glimpses like these patterned snow tracks in the our yard. My textile design ideas for silk scarves comes from primary sources like this. Natural elements mixed with man made shapes. The direction of tyre marks mimic bold brush strokes revealing cobble stones underneath the snow, as finely drawn geometric lines. Surface pattern inspiration for an art based theme? #photography #surfacepatterndesign #designinspiration #textiledesign #silkscarves #tracksinthesnow #geometriclines #printandpattern #artistic #postitfortheaesthetic #creativityfound #fleetingmoments #patterninspiration #winterishere #bevisuallyinspired #eyefordetail #designing #naturalelements
